Job Title: Full-Time Nanny  (Live-In or Live-Out)

Location: Syosset, Long Island, NY

Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, 7:45 AM – 6:30 PM (flexibility as needed)

Compensation: $30–$35/hr (DOE)

About the Family:

A warm and welcoming family of five in Syosset, Long Island is seeking an experienced and proactive Nanny/Family Assistant to care for their three children — two boys (ages ~ 4 and 6) who attend school/camp most days, and a 10-month-old baby, who will be the primary focus. The family is open to both live-in and live-out candidates and is looking for someone who can balance nurturing childcare with light household and family assistant tasks.

Childcare (Primary Focus):

  • Full care of the 10-month-old, including feeding, diapering, naptime routines, and engaging in age-appropriate developmental activities.
  • Assist with school drop-offs/pick-ups or help coordinate logistics for the older children as needed.
  • Plan and supervise fun, educational, and active play (both indoors and outdoors).
  • Prepare healthy snacks and meals for the children.
  • Manage bath and bedtime routines when necessary.
  • Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all children.

Family Assistant & Housekeeping Duties:

  • Perform light housekeeping, including tidying play areas, children’s laundry, and maintaining the kitchen after meal prep.
  • Organize and restock household items (e.g., pantry, children’s supplies).
  • Assist with errands such as grocery shopping or returns.
  • Help manage family calendars, including scheduling appointments and activities.
  • Light administrative support (e.g., booking appointments, handling deliveries).

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience: 5+ years as a nanny with prior family assistant/housekeeping experience.
  • Skills: Strong multitasking abilities, highly organized, and proactive in managing both childcare and household duties.
  • Personality: Warm, engaging, and nurturing, while being professional and reliable.
  • Flexibility: Comfortable adjusting to the family's dynamic schedule and occasional extended hours.
  • Communication: Excellent English skills; clear and open communication with parents is key.
  • Driving: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (own car preferred for commuting; family car provided for work-related driving).
  • Travel: Willingness to travel with the family on occasion – valid passport needed

Qualifications:

  • CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to become certified).
  • Strong background in infant and toddler care.
  • Ability to take initiative and anticipate family needs.
  • Familiarity with light family assistant/ housekeeping duties.
