Senior Accountant - Family Office

Role Overview:

A prestigious family office in Miami, FL, is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee and manage advanced accounting functions. This role involves ensuring the accuracy of financial records, preparing detailed reports, and supporting the office's financial strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, impeccable attention to detail, and the ability to work in a highly confidential and dynamic environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage general ledger accounting, ensuring all transactions are accurate and timely.
  • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Perform and review reconciliations of bank accounts, investment accounts, and other financial records.
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support decision-making.
  • Prepare and file tax documentation, including collaboration with external tax advisors.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial regulations.
  • Support audits by preparing necessary documentation and liaising with auditors.
  • Collaborate with accounts payable and receivable teams to streamline financial operations.
  • Develop and implement best practices for accounting processes and internal controls.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a family office or high-net-worth environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
